For those who've also had an interest in

Hair design

, take note that a very lucrative career can be in your future if you pursue the right credentials and market yourself as an innovative stylist. It all starts with Hair Design studies.

What You'll Learn
Hair design programs prepare students to obtain their hair design license and work as Salon professionals. As such, hair design students must be trained in hands-on courses that focus on hair cutting, hair coloring, and hair styling, as well as other specialties like straightening, perming, and other techniques. In addition, students in hair design programs will learn basic business aptitudes that will help them work with future clients and co-workers in salon settings.

Degree Types
At hair design school, you'll gain a foundation and a mastery of various elements of hair design, and become prepared for licensing exams. In addition to learning techniques in the classroom, hair design programs offer the chance to practice on mannequins and real people.

Career Paths
Hair design career opportunities are out there for your pursuit no matter where you live. From working in your local salon to doing hair design for the entertainment industry or at a beach resort, to opening your own business, talent and passion can take students far. Often after completing a hair design program, students may choose to focus on a specialty, such as hair Colorist or elegant styles for weddings and parties. Whatever path you choose, Hair Design Schools may help place students into that all-important first job.

Job Outlook
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) the jobs available for those out of hair design schools should grow by 14 percent -- faster than average -- through 2016.

Licensing and Accreditation Information
Upon completing the required number of hair design training hours as designated by your state, you'll need to take the National Hair Design licensure exams, which is comprised of both written and practical portions. The exam is developed and administered by the National-Interstate Council of State Boards of cosmetology.
