| Celebrity Trends Hair Designers Love in 2008 |
| by Robyn Tellefsen |
Hair designers have their work cut out for them this year. Check out these star-studded celeb styles, perfect to emulate in 2008.
Posh Spice's pob (posh bob) of 2007 is being reinvented in 2008. Traditional bobs are still trendy, but hair designers can consider doing longer, more modern blunt-cut bobs, too. The bob can be fringed or fringeless, short at the back, or blunt cut all over. It's up to the individual hair designer to make each bob unique.
Kate Moss' fringe has paved the way for a full-blown hair trend in 2008. And the fringe is so versatile that hair designers can find plenty of ways to tailor it to each client. You can go with the blunt fringe, the pixie fringe, or the way Kate is wearing it--long and covering the eyes.
Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams have each created fanfare with their past pixie cuts, predicted to be a hot hair trend this year. These boy-short crops are way in style, proclaiming independence and individuality. The only limit to these short cuts is your own imagination.
Ancient history is making a comeback--just think Katherine Heigl at the Oscars. This kind of 1940s style is totally trendy, with lots of layers, bounce, and body. If you've got clients who are looking to achieve starlet status, give them the cut of a lifetime by going back in time.
And how can we not mention Jennifer Aniston in an article about celebrity hair trends? The good news you can give your clients is that they can get hair just like Jenn's this year--all you've got to do is give them the right long cut with plenty of layers, and use a Sedu flat iron. Jenn's Sedu hairstyle ensures that her locks are straight, sleek, and smooth all the time.
2008 is the year that anything soft and romantic goes. And you can't go wrong with a short cut--just think of Katie Holmes' rapidly receding locks, which have garnered plenty of media attention. Or consider the simple buns and twisted updos we've seen on the likes of Heidi Klum and Gwen Stefani.
Of course, as a hair designer, your job goes beyond forecasting and following hair trends--you've got to help set those trends.
What hair will your clients wear this year?
