Licensing and Accreditation Information
Being a bridal make-up artist requires a person to be legally licensed by the state in which they wish to practice. Though exact regulations will often differ depending upon the state, the general requirements are that you satisfactorily complete and graduate from a cosmetology program that has been approved by the state, and have somewhere between 1,000 and 2,100 hours of practical training (this figures changes from state to state). Finally, a budding bridal make-up artist must pass both the written and practical cosmetology exams given in their state.
